Adult Volunteer of the Year 2016
This award is given to the volunteer who has given up their free time to volunteer in sport in a non coaching capacity. Sport in Britain depends on volunteers and these people help to sustain sporting opportunities for all.
Highly Commended: Matloob Yaqub
Matloob has had a big impact on the South Asian community of Hyndburn. He has impacted over 200 people in encourgaging them to take part in a number of sports. Archery is a rare sport which very few people had taken part in until Matloon started his classes. Since then archery has become big in Accrington with different clubs all over the town.
Winner: Kath Mason
Kath is the driving force behind the Sir Tom Finney Preston Soccer Centre and has been for the past 17 years. Kath helps organise, administrate and supports the activities that the Sir Tom Finney Soccer Centre hold. She is always available to help others and her knowledge and time is often taken by clubs and organisations/charities around Preston.
