Young Achiever of the Year 2016

This award is for some of the most talented performers across the County, who show exceptional dedication to their sport and have the potential to perform at the highest level. Nominations are encouraged from those who have represented their County/Region/Country in their chosen sport.

Highly Commended: Katie Rennolds and Lucy Moores
Katie Rennolds
Katie is a swimmer for Burnley Bobcats. She is the National 400m freestyle champion, multiple NW Regional Champion and record holder, English Schools National Champion and part of England’s Talent Beacon Group. She dedicated 20 hours per week covering 60k in the pool alongside her studies.
Lucy Moores
Lucy has been involved with trampoling for nearly two years joining Jump UK when it moved to the new venue in Leyland. Initially joining both gymnastics and trampoline course sessions it quickly emerged that she had talent for the trampoline element and was ‘fast tracked’ through to club activity. This talent grew at a very fast pace and she was placed into Regional Grade level.

Winner: Ross Cullen

Ross has completed in BMX at national & international level, and was World Champion in 2015 and finished 2nd in Colombia in this year’s World Championships. Ross has had to overcome immense pressure of his daily training schedule to also study for his exams.
